EastEnders isn't on tonight - here's why

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders will not be airing tonight (February 28), as the show faces more scheduling changes.

As we know, BBC One soap is usually a permanent fixture in the schedules on Tuesday evenings but it has been pulled in favour of football again.

Coverage of the FA Cup will kick off on BBC One from 7.30pm later today, as Fulham takes on Leeds United in the fifth round.

The bad news is that EastEnders won't be airing tomorrow night either (March 1) for the same reason, with Sheffield United taking on Tottenham Hotspur over on the broadcaster instead.

This is the second time this month that EastEnders has faced schedule changes due to football.

However, fans were treated to two helpings of Walford drama on Monday night, and the soap will return on Thursday (March 2).

A special Friday episode has also been scheduled for March 3, meaning that there will still be the same amount of output across the week.

Last night's double episode saw Whitney and Zack making the difficult decision to have a termination for medical reasons, after learning that their unborn baby had Edwards' syndrome.

Thursday's scenes will explore the aftermath of this as Whitney pushes her loved ones away, as she continues to be supported by Zack.

Also ahead on Thursday, Eve isn't sure what to do when she receives an invitation to Suki's marriage blessing ceremony.

When Suki then hears Nish and Ravi talking about Mitch, a furious family row follows. Suki later tries to reassure Nish that he's the only man for her, but will he be convinced?

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, with first look episodes dropping at 6am.
