EastEnders launches dark new story for Dean in early iPlayer episode

EastEnders spoilers follow from Friday's second episode, which is available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.

EastEnders is lining up a sinister new storyline for Dean Wicks.

The villain deliberately risks the health of his daughter Jade Masood in upcoming scenes, resorting to shocking lengths to keep her in Walford.

Dean puts his dark plans into action in the second episode of this Friday's double bill (March 1). This episode has already been released on BBC iPlayer, as the online 6am releases and BBC One airings are out of sync due to football coverage this week.

Jade has been considering moving away to Pakistan with her mum Shabnam following the news that her grandmother Zainab is unwell.

Shabnam has decided to make the move herself to be closer to Zainab. The timing left Jade thoughtful, as while she has enjoyed living with Dean, his controlling behaviour has sparked tension between them.

In Friday's second episode, Dean consulted with his solicitor, who warned that it was unlikely he'd be able to legally block Jade from moving away with Shabnam.

The solicitor pointed out that Jade's own preference would be taken into account due to her age, which left Dean in despair.

Dean tried to use Jade's recent health issues to persuade her to stick around, pointing out that she has only just received a double lung transplant.

Jade has also been struggling with a chest infection, which led to her receiving a fresh batch of antibiotics from a GP.

In Friday's closing scenes, Dean and Jade appear to reach a compromise as they agree to keep talking about the teenager's health and take it one day at a time.

However, Dean clearly has his own plans as he tampers with Jade's antibiotics, wanting to make her ill so that she'll stick around. Will Dean be caught out for his latest evil act?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
