Bernie pleads for more pills

A frantic Bernie feels she isn’t shedding enough weight and tells Tiff that she needs more pills. Although reluctant, Tiff does eventually hand over a fresh supply, but Bernie is left convinced that she’s blown her chance when she attends her Fat Blasters group and discovers that she hasn’t lost as many pounds as she’d hoped.

Thankfully, though, Rainie and Stuart have made a decision in Bernie’s favour: they want her to be a surrogate and the insemination is scheduled for the end of the week. But after attending the appointment, Bernie gets her first instalment of cash and it falls short, with Rainie admitting that she’s used funds to hire a private investigator to find Max.

However, what’s worrying Tiff is that Bernie wants to blow what cash she has on more pills. Knowing the financial hardship currently being experienced by the Taylor clan, will Tiff agree?

Ruby’s new heartache

Rainie isn’t the only one with baby worries on her mind, as Ruby too is fretting about what lies in her future. She’s surprised to discover that the hospital need her to have another procedure ahead of her laparoscopy and is left feeling that the world is telling her she doesn’t deserve happiness.

Enter Jean with a pep talk that ends up bolstering Ruby, who then tells Martin that she’ll have the procedure as she wants to keep trying for a baby.

Linda gets a present - from Max

The last thing Linda wants to receive on her birthday is a gift from Max, but when one arrives, she can’t help but clock the Croatia postmark. Deciding that Jack needs to know what his brother is up to, she and Mick decide to put him in the picture.

Frankie, meanwhile, decides to throw Linda a double party to celebrate both her birthday and pregnancy. But Linda is horrified that the bash is drawing attention to her unborn baby. Not that she should be too worried, as Rocky and Shirley are too busy sharing a laugh together. That is, until Kathy turns up…

Isaac’s research intensifies

Poor Isaac is in a distracted state, his decision not to take his medication having left his mind racing.

Lola is none the wiser about what’s going on inside his head but gets more of an inkling when Isaac meets her for lunch and reveals that he has a surprise waiting for her at Patrick’s shed at the allotments. Just what does he have planned?

Mila and Iqra make plans

Rocky has an idea that he hopes will reunite Mila and Iqra and gathers them in the Square after nicking their phones.

But it’s Kathy’s whose words prove to be the most persuasive when she tells Mila that Iqra stayed in town for her rather than head off to visit Habiba and her baby. Seeing sense, Mila apologises and she and Iqra then agree to move in together.

Phil wants to reveal all to Raymond

Having made a complete mess of being a dad up to this point, Phil decides that the time is right to tell Raymond that he’s his father.

The old bruiser gets this idea into his head when he receives a dismissive response from Denise after inviting her and Raymond to the opening of the cab company and launderette. But Kat is left stunned at the idea and advises her fella to play the long game in case Denise stops him from seeing Raymond altogether.
