Lola's final storyline has recently begun on screen, as she was diagnosed with a brain tumour and was later told that her illness is terminal.
Lola has made the decision not to tell Lexi about her devastating diagnosis, instead telling the youngster that the surgery was a success.
As Lola prepares for her first radiotherapy appointment next week, talk turns to whether they she be honest with Lexi about what's really going on.
Determined to protect her, Lola continues to hide the truth from Lexi, while Billy struggles to stay strong for his granddaughter.
When Freddie catches him breaking down, Billy is forced to reveal that Lola’s not well.
After some words of wisdom and encouragement from Freddie, Billy has a wakeup call and takes Lola to her appointment.
Lola struggles with the side effects of her treatment, leaving Ben concerned about keeping Lexi in the dark.

With Lexi now partially aware of the truth anyway, Lola makes the difficult decision to tell her what's really going on.
