EastEnders newcomer Colin Salmon shares debut date for the Knights

Light EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders newcomer Colin Salmon has shared when the Knight family will turn up in Walford.

Earlier this month, fans were re-introduced to Elaine Peacock, the new co-owner of The Queen Vic alongside Linda Carter. Elaine is now played by Harriet Thorpe, who took over the role from Maria Friedman, who appeared in the soap on and off between 2014 and 2017.

But Elaine won't be alone in Walford for long, as she'll soon be joined by the Knights. The family is comprised of Elaine's partner George (played by Doctor Who's Colin Salmon) and his daughters, Gina (A Discovery of Witches' Francesca Henry) and Anna (Strictly Come Dancing's Molly Rainford).

And now, we know when the Knights will arrive on Albert Square. On May 16, Colin Salmon confirmed in a tweet that he and his on-screen daughters will make their debut on June 1.

EastEnders producer Chris Clenshaw previously revealed that the introduction of the Knight family will shake up the soap.

"The arrival of the Knights brings a new dawn to Albert Square," he said.

"George Knight is a charming rogue and an old-school gent who dotes on his two daughters, Gina and Anna. George will take up residence in The Queen Vic when he joins his beloved Elaine, a powerhouse of a land-lady who knows just how to have fun."

He added: "We're thrilled to welcome this hugely talented group of actors: Colin Salmon, Harriet Thorpe, Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford, who will be immediately thrown into the heart of the Square, and we can't wait for everyone to meet them."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
