EastEnders fans are worried that the days of Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) on the soap may be numbered.

Priya made her first appearance last year, arriving in Walford with daughter Avani (Aaliyah James) as Ravi's (Aaron Thiara) ex-girlfriend and secret child, much to his and his family's surprise.

It didn't take long for Priya and Avani to stir up a fair bit of drama.Between the Panesar family squabbles and her own love life complications, Priya's stint in the square has been anything but calm. Recently, things have taken a dramatic twist.

The villainous Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) made a comeback, disclosing to his family that he is terminally ill.

This week, Priya surprised everyone by proposing to Nish in an attempt to secure a better financial future for her family.

She then took control of the situation, vowing to make Nish's remaining months "enjoyable" - at a cost. Initially, Nish rejected her offer, but after seeing his ex-wife Suki and girlfriend Eve looking cosy, he quickly changed his tune, reports the Daily Star.

At No. 41, Nish labelled Priya a "bad girl" and asked her to remove her top - sealing the deal with a kiss.

However, their moment was interrupted when the rest of the Panesar family arrived with news that Priya's son and Nish's grandson, Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), had collapsed due to steroid use and had been rushed to hospital.

The hospital visit completely diverted Priya's attention from her deal with Nish, consequently leading to its shelving. Further tensions arose when she rekindled her past relationship with Ravi during Thursday's episode (July 4), informing Nish that their deal was off as she opted to prioritise her family instead.

On the flip side, Nish played dirty by attempting to resort to blackmailing her. Adding salt to injury, he mockingly revealed that he had no intentions of giving her money in the first instance.

In a twisted turn of events, Nish decided to lie to Ravi, claiming that he had spent the night with Priya on grounds that she manipulated and duped him into signing his business over to her through threatening to expose their secret affair.

Soon after, a confrontation ensued between Ravi and Priya followed by packing up of their daughter, Avani's belongings to move in with him. Naturally, devastated by Nish's series of lies, Priya couldn't help but breakdown.

Meanwhile, viewers are of the opinion that this is just the beginning of Priya's woes, with some speculating that she might meet an untimely end.

Expressing their thoughts on X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer highlighted: "Priya didn't know who she was messing with. I did say that she'll rub someone up (no pun intended) the wrong way really soon and she'll end up in a bad way."

Another theorised: "I've got a very bad feeling about our Priya. I feel she's going to get caught in the cruel crossfire and end up deceased."

One fan took this prediction further, detailing how Priya's dramatic departure might unfold, proposing: "I can imagine Nish will start a fire this Autumn and she will end up dead."

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
