EastEnders reveals a first look at Karen Taylor's Walford return

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has revealed a first look at Karen Taylor's return to Walford, as she is set to make a reappearance just weeks after her exit.

The iconic character fled Walford after taking the blame for her grandson Albie's kidnapping – but she's already back for more.

Karen exited the soap to start a new life with Mitch Baker and their children (apart from Bernie) on December 8.

In several set photos from the long running soap, Karen is seen returning in search of her son Keanu – to the horror of Linda, Stacey, Kathy and Suki.

However, Karen's visit doesn't stay peaceful for long as she immediately finds herself in hot water when Phil Mitchell demands the stolen £500k kidnap ransom back.

Unbeknownst to Karen, Keanu was murdered in EastEnders's huge Christmas 2023 storyline; Linda Carter stabbed him to death as he strangled Sharon Watts.

Meanwhile, Nish Panesar lay injured on the floor of the Vic after Denise Fox smashed a bottle over his head to protect Suki Panesar.

The Six (Linda, Stacey, Kathy, Suki, Denise and Sharon) covered their tracks following the murder of Keanu by disposing of his body and telling the police he'd ran away after holding them hostage and attacking Nish Panesar.

When Karen returns, she's sure to quiz the Six on what happened to Keanu – but will she believe them? And how will she deal with Phil?

After news of her exit, Lorraine Stanley (the actress playing Karen) told The Sun, "I hope the door will be left open for Karen," confirming her potential desire to return to the soap in the future.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
