Bernie returns – and gives birth

Bernie will be back, with her return scenes seeing her go into labour and give birth to a baby boy. But after expressing her concerns about Stuart’s cancer, Rainie fibs and says that he’s beating the disease.

In reality, Stuart’s cancer is growing, but he’s refusing treatment, opting instead to buy more expensive supplements. And when the guilt gets too much for Rainie, she ultimately decides to tell Bernie the truth, feeling that she can’t let her hand over the baby when she’s unaware of the full facts.

But will Bernie change her mind about the surrogacy deal when she learns of Stuart’s declining health?

Isaac announces his exit

News arrives from Trinidad that Sheree has had a heart attack, so Isaac announces that he’s flying over there to help his mum recover. Kim, though, can’t help but think that Sheree is lying, and her suspicions leave Isaac feeling conflicted.

But by Wednesday, he’s made up his mind to go and when Lola discovers what Isaac’s plans are, she’s left furious and fears he won’t come back. After listening to her concerns, Isaac reassures Lola that he won’t abandon her, but with actor Stevie Basaula having announced his exit from the soap, it doesn’t look likely that he’ll return.

Tensions over Tina’s funeral

It continues to be a fraught time for the Carters as Jay pays them a visit to discuss funeral plans for Tina. And the stresses are soon mounting for Shirley, who’s left irritated when Janine returns to the pub.

Mick, meanwhile, is buckling under the strain of doing all the planning, and as he frets over writing Tina’s eulogy, he ends up asking for Janine’s help. But will her assistance be appreciated by Shirl?

Chelsea remains adamant

The adoption process continues to occupy Chelsea’s thoughts, but when she lies about her whereabouts, Denise tracks her daughter down and finds that she’s in the middle of an appointment with a social worker about Jordan.

Having been through this experience, and then subsequently regretted it, Denise attempts to change Chelsea’s mind. But it seems she’s made her decision. And when Denise later opens up about the love she has for Raymond, her words backfire and leave Chelsea feeling ever-more certain that she’s doing the right thing.

Kim gets angry with Howie

Kim is ecstatic when she finds out her video worked and that Pearl has been selected for an interview. And pretty soon, she’s roped in the likes of Isaac, Lola and Patrick to help her prepare.

But Howie throws a curveball when he comes clean and admits that he switched the video that was submitted, as he wanted to show them Pearl’s real talents – without any of Kim’s added extras. It’s a revelation that leaves Kim seething with fury.Watch the latest EastEnders spoilers
