The trouble is, Nish then arrives home early, so Eve is forced to hide in the cupboard under the stairs, from where she overhears Nish discussing less-than-legal activities. When she feeds this information back to Suki, Eve states that this is their chance to get rid of Nish for good.
Pretty soon, the pair are plotting their escape plan and ultimately decide to report him to the police. Suki then packs her case before having an emotional chat with Vinny, who’s unaware that she’s saying goodbye. But just as she’s about to exit, Nish returns and accuses Vinny of dobbing him in to the authorities…
Elaine gets a proposal from George
The invasion of the Knight family has left Linda struggling, as a loved-up George and Elaine are making themselves very much at home. Elaine then confides in her daughter that Anna and Gina’s mother walked out on them years ago.
But despite this tale of woe, Linda’s nose is put out of joint when Phil arranges a meeting with George to discuss a new pub, pie and fight collaboration between the Vic and the Boxing Den. Feeling on the ropes herself, Linda then listens in on a phone conversation that George is conducting and discovers that he’s not yet sold his bar in Marbella and so has no cash to support the Vic’s accounts.
Linda’s reaction is to order him and the girls off the premises, but George blindsides everyone by proposing to Elaine in front of all the pub’s punters. Linda’s convinced George is a gold digger and begs her mum to end the relationship, but what reaction will Elaine give?
Freddie and Bobby, meanwhile, remain enamoured of the Knight girls. And Anna and Gina are more than happy to play along with the flirting and free fish and chips, later offering the boys drinks on the house at the pub.
Keanu and Sharon are at odds
Much to Phil’s displeasure, Ben sells the Arches to Sharon, who’s splashed the cash in order to set Keanu up with a business.
But Keanu’s soon admitting to finding it difficult that Sharon is supporting him when he feels he ought to be taking care of her. Sharon’s advice? That he leave his pride at the door and grab this opportunity with both hands. Yet when Sharon subsequently starts doubting Keanu’s abilities, she ends up aggravating him by hiring Reiss to keep on top of the books.
Jay is struggling
Ben and Jay are seen on Wednesday having an emotional afternoon with Lexi where they encourage the grieving girl to open up about her mum, which she eventually does.
Thursday’s drama then finds Jay inviting Kim and Billy over to share out more items from Lola’s memory box with Ben. But as friends attempt to instil Jay with the strength he needs to continue with his life, it’s clear to all that he’s faltering in the midst of his all-consuming grief.
