EastEnders star James Farrar praises "epic" Christmas scenes for soap

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders star James Farrar has promised "epic" Christmas scenes for the soap.

This year's festive episodes will revolve around the payoff for February's flashforward scene, where six female characters – Denise Fox, Kathy Cotton, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts, Stacey Slater and Suki Kaur Panesar – discovered a mysterious corpse in the Queen Vic.

There will be plenty more exciting story strands to follow in the festive episodes, including Zack Hudson (Farrar) and Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) considering their future after deciding to foster a child.

"I've been an EastEnders lover since day one, and, over the years, I've seen some exciting Christmas stories," Farrar told Inside Soap. "This is my third Christmas working on the show, and I can honestly say this one is stellar.

"The viewers have been so invested in the Christmas Day flashforward and who the body might be, and the same is true for us on the set."

The actor continued: "I can genuinely say the stuff at Christmas – as well as all of the storylines we've shown across the year – in my opinion, is epic!"

The BBC has announced a special one-off documentary special to air on BBC Three called EastEnders: The Six – Revealed, where Joe Swash will return to Walford to profile the six women at the center of the flashforward.

This documentary will include Swash running down theories on which each member of the Six could be involved in the demise of the corpse – as well which male character might become the (maybe not-so) unfortunate victim.

Farrar is also set to have a dramatic few months in the Square, as his on-screen romantic partner Shona McGarty is set to depart as Whitney Dean soon as well.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
