EastEnders star Ricky Norwood responds to surprise Fatboy return
EastEnders fan favourite Ricky Norwood has broken his silence following Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb's flashback return this week.
Fatboy's brief cameo in Tuesday's episode was part of scenes set in 2014, which saw Cindy Beale learning of her daughter Lucy's tragic death and subsequently leaving Spain for Walford.
Cindy watched from afar as husband Ian psyched himself up to tell their son Peter the terrible news. However, her plan to fly back to England for good was scuppered when Cindy's witness protection handler DCI Mary Nicholls urged her to reconsider.
Guess who back..!?!?
Even for a brief moment… 🤩
What an episode and
what an epic storyline to be
apart of @missmcollins 😘🤪
Big Thanks to Chris Clenshaw for making it happen! ☺️
The @bbceastenders team for keeping it super secret 🤫

In a later scene, Cindy and Mary are interrupted by Fatboy, who asks if they've got the time.
Reacting to his surprise comeback set in the past, the actor wrote on X (Twitter) after the episode had aired: "Guess who back..!?!? Even for a brief moment... What an episode and what an epic storyline to be a part of @missmcollins.

It's been eight years since Norwood's character has been seen on our screens – Fatboy seemingly met a gruesome end in the boot of a car that was sent to be crushed, after Ronnie Mitchell's revenge plan on Vincent Hubbard went horribly wrong.
Celebrating Norwood's cameo, one fan commented: "Everyone loves Fats – he was an awesome character and your portrayal was such a joy to watch."
EastEnders fans had previously suspected that in the present-day timeline, Fatboy could have escaped his grisly fate.
Following the death of Dot Cotton, some viewers noticed her great-nephew Reiss holding a card bearing the message: "Mrs B – Forever in my heart. Arthur".
Fatboy frequently referred to Dot by his nickname for her – which, as referenced in Norwood's recent tweet, was 'Mrs B'.
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
