easyJet is renowned for its budget-friendly fares, with seats on offer from just £25.99 for the summer season. Yet, travellers looking to add extra luggage or choose a specific seat may find the initial low cost of their ticket climbing.

The airline doesn't permit passengers to select their seats without an additional charge.

easyJet clarified their policy: "You can choose where you'd like to sit for a fee. Seats can be selected at the time of booking, or at any time before you check-in, via Manage bookings on our website or mobile app."

For those willing to pay for the convenience, easyJet offers three seating options at different prices: standard seats, extra legroom, and up-front seats. However, for passengers not keen on paying extra, the advice is to check in as early as possible.

A standout feature of easyJet is the ability to check in 30 days prior to the flight, reports the Express.

The airline elaborated: "If you don't select a seat we'll assign seats randomly for free when you check in and will do all we can to ensure everyone on the booking sits together. However, this is not guaranteed, especially when checking in closer to departure."

So, to secure the best available seats at no extra cost and to increase the likelihood of sitting with your group, it's advisable to check in at the earliest opportunity.

If you're the type who prefers a particular seat or section of the plane, it might be worth your while to pay in advance.

The price for seats can fluctuate based on when you book and where on the aircraft you'd like to be situated.

Seats in the first row start at £12.99, providing extra legroom, while seats up-front or over the wing begin at £7.99, also with additional legroom.

Other standard seats can be switched from as low as 99p, depending on your desired location on the plane and the timing of your booking.

Seat selection can be done at the time of booking, or any time prior to check-in by logging into manage your booking online or via the mobile app.
