Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly lining up a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson ahead of the summer.

It is expected to be another busy window in the Middle East, with claims that up to ten marquee signings are expected to be made. According to The Telegraph, an ambitious move is 'being discussed' for Ederson along with Liverpool shot-stopper Alisson.

It is claimed that Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro are also among the names being mentioned. Last summer, Pro League clubs spent an extraordinary £767million in the transfer window, signing a number of players from the Premier League.

Former City star Riyad Mahrez, Liverpool duo Roberto Firmino and Fabinho and ex-United defender Alex Telles were all signed by Saudi clubs. A similar outcome could be on the cards this summer as Pro League is determined to use transfer windows as an opportunity to raise the league's profile.

Clubs filled their foreign quotas of eight players but there is said to be room for movement with some players being moved on. The Telegraph adds that quotas have been raised to ten, but two of those must be under the age of 21.

Whether City are approached over a transfer for Ederson remains to be seen. The Brazilian is in his seventh season with the club after completing a £35million move from Benfica in 2017.

Under contract until 2026, Ederson is Pep Guardiola's starting goalkeeper and has 331 appearances under his belt to date. Guardiola has previously stated that City are 'lucky' to have him.

He said: "We cannot have a better goalkeeper than Eddie. He suits perfectly our way [of playing]. The impact he has on the team is massive. His composure and the way he faces the good moments and bad moments is remarkable. He has incredible work ethic. We are lucky."
