An Edinburgh chef and one of his restaurants has been nominated for a prestigious award.

Stuart Ralston has made a strong name for himself with four restaurants in Edinburgh, Aizle, Lyla, Noto, and Tipo, each bringing something remarkable.

Now he will be battling it out against other top chefs in the UK for the National Restaurant Awards after he made the shortlist for Chef of the Year.

Stuart's latest venture Lyla has been praised as an 'ambitious restaurant' with a fish focus. Although it only opened in 2023, it has already been mentioned on the Michelin Guide.

The fine dining restaurant on Royal Terrace has also been nominated for Opening of the Year.

This comes after Lyla made the prestigious 'Top 100' list by the National Restaurant Awards.

Taking to social media, the restaurant said: "We are so proud that after only a few months since opening our doors we have made the @nationalrestaurantawards top 100. We look forward to the event with all of our peers."

Stuart isn't a stranger to the National Restaurant Awards as Lyla's sister restaurant Aizle is placed number 87.

The National Restaurant Awards will take place in June.
