Edinburgh driver stopped by police on City Bypass for breaking crucial rules

An Edinburgh driver was stopped by police on a major road for breaking a crucial rule.

Road policing officers in Edinburgh have been cracking down on drivers speeding and on Saturday morning they were monitoring vehicles on the City Bypass.

They stopped a number of drivers, including one that was breaking the speed limit. The car was over 40 miles per hour over the speed limit.

As well as being stopped for driving 94mph on the 50mph road, the driver was also found to be over the alcohol limit.

Taking to social media, Road Policing Scotland said: "EdinburghRP carried out a speed check this morning on the A720, Edinburgh City Bypass when they stopped a number of vehicles including this one driving at 94mph in a 50mph limit, the driver was also over the limit for alcohol. #Fatal5 #DontRiskIt #DontDrinkAndDrive #SlowDown."
