Edinburgh flights to European city relaunched by budget airline in time for summer

A budget airline has launched cheap flights to a popular European city from Edinburgh just in time for summer.

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling has relaunched its flights from Edinburgh to Barcelona with the Scottish capital just one of four UK airports used by the airline.

The airline currently flies from Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh to Barcelona, reports the Scottish Sun. The Edinburgh to Barcelona route only operates once a week, with fares starting from £69.99 per person.

Flights between Edinburgh and Barcelona will operate until November. There are five weekly flights between Birmingham and Barcelona, with outbound fares starting from £44.99 per person in June.

According to the airline's website, the Birmingham route will operate throughout the year, including in the winter months.

In March 2024, we reported how major airline Aer Lingus, announced new flights to the capital of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Aer Lingus is set to increase its schedule to both cities during summer 2024, with eight flights per day to operate to Dublin and four flights per day to Belfast.

Tickets are on sale now as Emerald Airlines, the exclusive operator for the airline, announced its summer schedule with extra services to Belfast and Dublin being chosen to keep up with the growing demand.
