A murder probe has been launched after a young man was stabbed to death in north London.

The 21-year-old victim was attacked and stabbed in Edmonton on Saturday evening.

Scotland Yard said police were called to reports of a stabbing in Strimon Close, near Lema Crescent, shortly before 6.30pm on Saturday.

Paramedics alerted police after the young man was found collapsed and bleeding in the street.

He was taken to hospital and pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

His next-of-kin have been informed. A post mortem and formal identification has not yet taken place.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

A crime scene remained in place on Sunday afternoon and police were going door to door making enquiries.
