EFL make key transfer window decision which will impact Hull City and incoming new boss

The EFL have confirmed the dates of the summer and winter transfer windows as the current campaign draws to a close with Hull City preparing a busy summer of activity.

City will have 77 days to get their business concluded with the window officially opening exactly a month from today on June 14 before closing on August 30 at 11pm.

Last season, the window closed the night before City went to Leicester City and won by Liam Delap's goal to nil at the King Power Stadium, and it proved to be a busy affair with Tyler Morton and James Furlong all arriving ahead of that trip to the East Midlands, along with Jaden Philogene and Fenerbahce youngster Bora Aydınlık.

The Tigers are expecting a similarity busy summer period over the coming weeks once they secure the appointment of a new manager which is still expected to be German chief Tim Walter.

Meanwhile, as usual, the winter window will open for business on New Year's Day but close on February 3 at 11pm as clubs finalise their squads for the final weeks of the campaign.

  • The summer transfer window will open on June 14, 2024, and close on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11pm.

  • The winter transfer window will open on January 1, 2025 and close on Monday, February 3 2025 at 11pm.

Managerless City will find out the makeup of their fixture list on Wednesday, June 26 at 9am with the Tigers renewing acquaintances with the likes of Sheffield United, Burnley, Derby County, Luton Town and Portsmouth.

The new campaign gets underway over the second weekend in Augusts, 10 and 11 with the first round of the Carabao Cup set to take place the following midweek - the final of the League Cup takes place at Wembley on March 16, 2025 while the play-off finals are scheduled to happen across the 24, 25 and 26 May.
