Eight lives left! Watch the dramatic moment a kitten is rescued from 12th floor window ledge

This is the dramatic moment a kitten refused to be rescued from the 12th floor of a building after he wandered out onto a tiny window ledge.

The youngster was spotted by a concerned resident in a nearby tower block, who saw the cat stuck on the narrow ledge, seemingly unable to get back inside to safety.

Rescue officer Lee Yao Huang, from the Singapore Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), rushed to the scene and set about using a catch pole to get the kitten to safety.

Two police officers also stayed on the ground with a blanket in case the cat fell.

With a GoPro camera attached, the plight of the kitten was laid out bare, with one false move meaning a big drop.

A loop round the pole was used to try and grab the cat - but it kept escaping, refusing to be rescued.

However, Lee eventually managed to secure the kitten and pull it back to safety before it was reunited with its owner.

The SPCA said cat owners should place meshing on windows where cats could fall to the their death.

They wrote on Facebook: “Cats and kittens are curious animals and they risk falling out of an open window by simple acts such as chasing a bird that was flying past.”
