Here are the eight tips that NetVoucherCodes gave to keep cool this summer without breaking the bank.

1. Wetting headbands

An instant cool feeling to the head can be achieved by either wetting a sweat headband or popping it in the freezer. This will instantly help you relax from the hot temperature and feel less overwhelmed by the heat.

2. Cooling mist

Throughout the day you can use a homemade cooling mist to cool you down. If you mix water with tea tree extract drops the natural mist will have a cooling effect whilst keeping a fresh scent.

3. Cylinder ice cubes

During the hot weather keeping hydrated and drinking lots of water is very important but drinks can quickly warm on a hot day. Freezing your ice in a cylindrical shape will make it easier to fit into any bottle, keeping your drinks crisp.

4. Warm showers

After a long day in the hot sun many people crave a nice cold shower. Whilst these are good for an immediate relief a warmer shower will help gradually warm your body temperature so you’re not feeling overheated throughout the day.

5. Rinsing water on wrists and ankles and forehead

Splashing water around all three areas can help cool you down from top to bottom. Use a damp cloth throughout the day to maintain a nice cool feeling. For the latest Welsh news delivered to your inbox sign up to our newsletter.

6. Sun cream in the fridge

Sun cream is an essential during a heatwave and putting yours in the fridge can make it a cooling lotion. It will not only help with protecting your skin from sun damage but also help it from feeling the heat.

7. Freezing bed sheets

During the summer months many people struggle the most with sleeping. To feel cool in bed freeze your sheets, pillowcases, and duvet cover an hour before getting into bed to help you fall asleep.

8. Keeping blinds closed

Whilst many people want to enjoy having the light shine into the room having your blinds closed throughout the day can stop from making the room unbearably warm. You should ensure to keep them closed during the peak of the heat between 12pm and 4pm.
