Elizabeth Banks and Jessica Biel to team up for Prime Video thriller
Elizabeth Banks and Jessica Biel are set to team up for new Prime Video thriller The Better Sister.
According to Deadline, the two actors will both executive produce and star in the upcoming series, based on Alafair Burke’s 2019 novel of the same name.
The Better Sister will see Biel take on the role of Chloe, who seems to effortlessly balance life with her lawyer husband Adam and teen son Ethan while her estranged sister Nicky (played by Banks) struggles to stay clean and make ends meet.
However, when Adam is suddenly and brutally murdered, the prime suspect "sends shockwaves through the family, laying bare long-buried secrets".

Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado will also executive produce and serve as showrunners on the series, while Craig Gillespie (Pam & Tommy) has been brought on board to direct.
"Beyond being an enticing thriller full of twists and turns, The Better Sister is a gripping story about family feuds and forgiveness," Amazon MGM Studios' head of television, Vernon Sanders, said in a statement.
"The brilliant duo of Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks are sure to bring these characters to life in the most authentic way alongside Olivia, Regina, Craig, and the talented team at Tomorrow Studios.
"The series is in the best hands to bring Alafair Burke’s original IP to life for our global Prime Video customers."

Elsewhere, Biel will next star opposite Ethan Hawke and Daniel Radcliffe in an upcoming dramatization of Warren 'Batso' Harding and Dean Caldwell's infamous climb of El Capitan in the 1970s.
Hawke and Radcliffe will play Batso and Caldwell, respectively, while Biel will take on the role of Batso’s partner Beryl Knauth.
Meanwhile, Banks is set executive produce and star in upcoming adult animated series Bedrock, which is based on The Flintstones.
The Better Sister is yet to receive a release date.
