Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen Set to Lead Peacock Dramedy The Miniature Wife
Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to the romantic-dramedy The Miniature Wife, which will star and be executive-produced by Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), the streamer announced Monday.
Created and executive-produced by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire), The Miniature Wife is a “high-concept marital dramedy examining the power (im)balances between spouses Lindy (Banks) and Les (Macfadyen) who battle each other for supremacy after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis,” according to its official description.

The series is based on a short story by Manuel Gonzalez. Ames and Turner will also serve as showrunners, while additional EPs include Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer (The Morning Show).
Macfadyen has also joined Netflix’s Death by Lightning. The drama is based on Candace Millard’s 2011 book Destiny of the Republic, which chronicles the rise of President James Garfield and his assassination by presidential hanger-on Charles Guiteau. The Succession star will play Guiteau opposite Michael Shannon (George & Tammy) as Garfield.
As for Banks, she can be seen next in Christine Jeffs’ medical drama film A Mistake, and in the movie Skincare opposite Nathan Fillion, Lewis Pullman and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez.
