Yahoo News Ellie Goulding defends Tom Grennan after Brit Awards comment on her breasts
The Hate Me singer said Grennan is her friend and ally and there was no harm in his remark.
Ellie Goulding has defended Tom Grennan over his comments on her breasts on stage at the Brit awards.
Grennan has apologised for a remark he made on the breast plate the Hate Me singer was wearing when they appeared on stage together at the ceremony to present the Best New Artist gong.
Goulding tweeted: "A word on Brit/ t*t gate … I was wearing a beautiful breastplate, thank you all for appreciating it.

"My friend @Tom_Grennan is 100 per cent an ally and we were having a bit of fun. No offence taken, no harm intended- and no other interpretations necessary."

Grennan posted: "Love ya @elliegoulding What started as a joke between Ellie and I before we went on stage came out all wrong.
"The nerves got the better of us, but that does not excuse what was said, and I sincerely apologise to anyone who was offended - that’s not me at all, and I am sorry."
Before announcing the nominees for Best New Artist at the 2023 Brit Awards at London's O2 Arena the pair exchanged a few words on stage.
The Not Over Yet singer said: "Don’t I look good next to Ellie Goulding? I love what you’re doing. Are they your real boobs?”
She replied: "These are not mine, no. I wish! Mine are a lot further apart."
His comment was branded offensive and misogynistic on social media by some viewers of the music awards.
One tweeted: "Did Tom Grennan actually ask Ellie Goulding about her t*ts on TV? Really? What year are we in? And does he know he’s on cam? Also, she is a giant and he is an ant. Buh bye."
A second agreed and added: "Tom Grennan really thought it was cool to chat about Ellie Goulding’s boobs? Nah, I thought we were past this."
"Tom Grennan asking Ellie Goulding if they were her real boobs while presenting an award was super weird, uncomfortable and creepy. WTF?!" said a third.
The Best New Artist awards went to Wet Leg.
The 2023 Brits were dominated by Harry Styles who won four awards - Best Artist, Best Album for Harry's House, Best Song for As It Was and Best Pop/R&B Act.
