With a majority in Eltham and Chislehurst, Clive Efford of the Labour Party will continue serving as the constituency's MP.

Clive Efford is the Labour MP for Eltham and Chislehurst, and has been an MP continually since May 1, 1997.

The total turnout for this election in Eltham and Chislehurst was 61.4 per cent, and Mr Efford received 20,069 votes.

Mr Efford, who raised his family in Eltham, served as a Councillor for the Eltham Well Hall Ward starting in 1986 before becoming an MP in 1997.

Prior to his political career, he held various jobs, including youth worker, business owner, and licensed black cab driver.

Volunteers began counting the votes at 10pm yesterday (Thursday, July 4) when the polls closed.
