Elton John, Nicole Scherzinger, Tom Hiddleston: The best dressed stars at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards
A red carpet flurry lit up Mayfair’s Brook Street on Sunday evening, as the West End's great and good descended on Claridge's for the Evening Standard’s Theatre Awards 2023.
The hotel’s revolving ballroom door started spinning at 6pm, and an A-list crowd which counted Nicole Scherzinger, Elton John, Taylor Russell, Tom Hiddleston and Ruth Wilson made their way to the awards ceremony.
Boy George, who was thrilled to be seated at a three-course-dinner far from the Jungle he found himself in this time last year, was unmissable in his oversized purple bowler hat, and David Tennant was a strong contender for best dressed man in a dazzling Mithridate embellished blazer and velvet trousers.
Zawe Ashton sparkled as she danced until the lights came up in a sequin caped Erdem gown, while Hayley Atwell said she wanted to bring cape energy with her floor length sleeved black gown by Roland Mouret. It was a sea of sparkle, champagne and celebration.
