Emergency crews on scene as Glasgow's Byres Road 'closed' due to incident

Emergency services have closed a busy Glasgow road this afternoon following an ongoing incident.

Responding to a 'medical incident' this afternoon (June 17) on Byres Road in the city's west end, crews shut down the area as they continued to work on scene.

The nature of the incident is currently unknown.

Traffic is being diverted with First Bus's service 8 and 90 affected. Alerting customers on X they wrote: "Byres Road has been closed by Police.

"Diversions via Partick bus Station, Dumbarton Road, Crow Road, Clarence Drive, Hyndland Road, Highburgh Road and Byres Road to resume normal route."

Glasgow Live understand that Police Scotland are assisting the Scottish Ambulance Service with crew currently on scene.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been approached for comment.
