An emergency road closure has been put in place for an east Suffolk route.

Part of the A1120 near Yoxford will be closed from Friday until Monday, July 15 while Cadent carries out emergency roadworks.

According to the Suffolk County Council website, the official diversion route is 60 miles long.

The diversion route is so long as it takes drivers along A roads.

This is because some vehicles like HGVs cannot go down smaller roads that others would use as shortcuts.

It comes after a 70-mile diversion route was put in place while the A12 was closed earlier this year.

The road was closed between 8pm and 5am.
