Emergency services have raced to the scene of a "two vehicle" rush hour smash in Glasgow.

Police and ambulances sped to Barrhead Road near the junction with Kennishead Road at around 18:15 on July 10.

The road remains closed in one direction while cops deal with the road traffic collision and it is currently unknown if anyone is injured.

An eye-witness told Glasgow Live that one lane is currently "closed" as police divert traffic.

Images from the scene show two cars in the middle of a single intersection as emergency services stand nearby directing oncoming traffic.

Glasgow Live has approached Police Scotland for comment.
