Pregnant Woman Among 3 Killed in Shooting at Jerusalem Bus Stop

At least three people were killed and several were injured when Palestinian militants opened fire at a bus stop in Jerusalem on Thursday, November 30, according to both Israel officials and Hamas, which claimed responsibility for the attack.

Israel Police said two Palestinian militants from East Jerusalem, armed with an M-16 rifle and a handgun, exited a vehicle beside the bus stop on Weizman Boulevard and began firing at civilians. The attackers were “neutralized” by two off-duty Israeli soldiers and a civilian who fired back them, police said.

The three victims of the attack were a 72-year old man, a 65-year-old woman, and a 24-year-old woman who was pregnant when she died, according to reports from police and Israel media.

Hamas took responsibility for the attack, which it said was carried out by two members of its military wing, the Qassam Brigades. The group celebrated the shooting as an act of heroism and said it was in response to the Israeli killing of women and children in the West Bank and Gaza. Credit: Magen David Adom via Storyful
