Emergency services 'search for body' in River Clyde near George V Bridge
Emergency services are searching the River Clyde today (April 27) after they received reports of a body in the water.
Police, ambulance and fire crews rushed to the scene at around 9.45am to the George V Bridge after the incident was called in.
Pictures from the scene show officers and firemen on either side of the Clyde with a helicopter flying overhead. It is believed that the Clyde Walkway Bridge has been closed off and a large cordon along the river is in place.

A witness told Glasgow Live there were at least 20 officers and four or five ambulances on the banks of the water. Boats have also been seen sweeping the river.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.45am on Saturday, 27 April 2024, a report was made with regard to what is believed to be a body in the water near the George V Bridge. Police and emergency services are at the scene."
