Emergency services tackle another blaze at homes destroyed by horror fire

Firefighters are tackling another blaze in a street in East Kilbride where homes were left in ruins by a horror fire last year.

Six homes where accidentally set on fire on October 20 in Whitlee, South Lanarkshire. Devastating images from the scene showed flames ripping through the homes as a huge plume of black smoke billowed up into the sky.

The homes were completley destroyed with the roofs of the properties caved in and windows smashed. They have been left adandoned since.

The owners have been calling on council to demolish them as they have become a target for youths setting fires.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have confirmed with the Record that are currently in attendance at Whitelee.
