The video also featured Lucas Bravo, who plays chef Gabriel, Samuel Arnold and Bruno Gouery who play Emily's co-workers, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu who plays Emily's boss Sylvie and William Abadie, one of Emily's clients.

The short clip hinted that Italy could be on the cards in the new series, with Gouery describing the show as 'beauty' in Italian. Showrunner Darren Star confirmed to website Netflix Tudum: "Emily finds herself with a busy travel schedule in Season 4 of Emily in Paris.

"From the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome, viewers will vicariously experience amazing new locations through Emily’s eyes. Expect new characters, a lot more drama, romance, and a whole new language to try and master.”

While fans were excited about the update, many complained over the series split. Reacting to the announcement on Facebook, one person asked: "Can we not just have it all in September ?? What with this split season stuff??" as a second agreed: "I'll wait until September then. Hate split series".

Season three came to a dramatic end when Camille and Gabriel's wedding was interrupted. Camille had been having an affair in Greece, and as she makes an announcement during the awkward ceremony, viewers think she's about to come clean.

Instead, she drops some shocking news - she's pregnant. Emily has strong feelings for both Gabriel and her ex-boyfriend Alfie.

However, as viewers are set to see in season four, Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together toward a Michelin star. However two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of.

“These are two characters who are star-crossed lovers,” creator Star previously said of Emily and Gabriel in an interview with website Netflix Tudum. “They have a lot of passion for one another. They have things that are getting in their way, but, at the same time, I feel like every season, in a strange kind of way, their relationship deepens.”

Meanwhile at work, Sylvie is forced to confront a dilemma from her past for the sake of her marriage as the Agence Grateau team navigates personnel shake-ups. And Mindy and the band are forced to get thrifty when they run out funds preparing for Eurovision.

Emily in Paris season four drops in two halves on August 15 and September 12.
