Eminem Surprised the Crowd at 50 Cent's Detroit Tour Stop: 'One of the Best Friends I've Ever Known'

The two hip-hop stars performed together at 50 Cent's Final Lap concert on Sunday night

50 Cent wasn't the only “rap god” at his Detroit concert.

On Sunday, the rapper, 48, brought his Final Lap Tour to Michigan’s Pine Knob Music Theatre and surprised the crowd by bringing his longtime friend and collaborator Eminem out on stage.

According to The Detroit Free Press, the “In da Club” rapper and Slim Shady, 50, thrilled the crowd by performing two songs together.

The Detroit native reportedly appeared as Fiddy finished up his verse in their 2003 collaboration "Patiently Waiting,” running out on stage to join him on the track. The two hip-hop stars then performed the “Lose Yourself” artist’s 2009 song “Crack a Bottle,” which 50 Cent (whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III) is featured on. Fans captured footage of the fierce, energized two-song set.

As seen in a video that the “21 Questions” artist posted on Instagram, Eminem (whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III) gave the fellow hip-hop legend a shout-out after they wrapped up their second song together. “Detroit, make some noise for one of the best friends I’ve ever known: 50 Cent!” said the hometown artist said. “Make some noise for hip-hop’s 50th birthday, y’all — it’s still hip-hop’s 50th birthday. Detroit, I love y’all!”

In the caption of the clip, 50 Cent also sang praises of his special guest. He wrote, “👀Bro when I do anything with EM people just go crazy they know he really my boy. I love him till death!”

The Grammy winner later shared an Instagram carousel of the show on Monday, posting photos of the two on stage, as well as a video of the crowd erupting in cheers as Eminem came out on stage. “The Final lap 🌎 tour unbelievable moments 🤦‍♂️Detroit,” the “Candy Shop” rapper wrote in the caption.

Per The Detroit Free Press, the Detroit legend’s 27-year-old daughter Hailie Jade Scott, whom he shares with ex wife Kim Scott and is the subject of several of his songs, was in the crowd.

The hitmakers will soon collaborate again on an entirely different kind of project. Earlier this year, 50 Cent revealed that he has plans “in motion” to adapt 8 Mile, the semi-autobiographical film based on Eminem’s life, for TV.

"I'm gonna bring his 8 Mile to television," the recording artist told the BigBoyTV YouTube channel in an interview, explaining that Eminem is also on board to assist with production.

"It's gonna be big. I'm working. I ain't got no duds. I'm batting 100," the rapper added. "I think it should be there for his legacy because it's important to me that they understand it."

50 Cent announced The Final Lap Tour in May to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his acclaimed, career-defining debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. The tour kicked off back in July and wrapped up its North American leg in Detroit. In late September, he’ll bring the show abroad with fall dates across Europe and the U.K.
