Emma Raducanu is back on Centre Court at Wimbledon this afternoon as she takes on Maria Sakkari in the third round of the women's singles competition.

The 21-year-old, who is currently ranked 135th in the world as she continues her comeback from an injury-hit year, has impressed at the competition so far, outplaying Elise Mertens in the second round on Wednesday. She has never made it past the fourth round at Wimbledon, with ninth seed Sakkari now standing in her way of making it through.

Of course, Raducanu became an overnight star as a teenager back in 2021, when she stunned the tennis world to come through qualifying at the US Open and win the Grand Slam title, writing her name into the record books in the process.

Since then, she has been one of the most talked about athletes in the UK and beyond, with her life off the court often garnering just as much attention as her multiple achievements on it.

Her romantic life has also made headlines of late, with suggestions made of a potential romance between her and the son of a footballing great. Here's everything you need to know.

Rumoured romance with footballer

Tongues were set wagging when the son of a sporting legend watched Raducanu in action at Wimbledon earlier this week.

As the star saw off Elise Mertens in straight sets in the second round, Romeo Beckham - the second eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham - was watching in the stands alongside some friends and former Germany midfielder Sami Khedira.

The 21-year-old - a footballer on the books of Brentford - is a very keen tennis player having taken up training with Andy Murray during a five-year hiatus from football. The Beckhams are also avid supporters of Raducanu, with former England captain David seen sitting in the Royal Box of Centre Court alongside his mother Sandra to watch the ace in her first round match days earlier.

Of course, Beckham Jr may have just been there to support Raducanu as a fan, but that didn't stop the rumour mill from going into overdrive as fans speculated about the nature of their relationship online. Romeo even posted a picture of her in action on Instagram accompanied with two love heart emojis, while the tennis player quickly moved the question on when asked about him being there.

"I mean, I think he's, yeah, he's really cool," she said. "His dad is, you know, someone that I think every athlete looks up to, especially every British athlete, you know what he's kind of gone through with the media, with his career, with the pressure moments.

"Having David (Beckham) in my first round at the front - he was there from the start. At first point even when the crowd was pretty empty. So, I have the utmost respect for him and I think he's just amazing for British sport in general."

Romeo has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with model Mia Regan since 2019, splitting most recently in February 2024 - although it is unclear if they are now back together again.

Raducanu, meanwhile, has recently split from Carlo Agostinelli, the son of billionaire Robert Agostinelli. Her ex-boyfriend is a promising footballer who spent three months on the books of Tottenham Hotspur before moving to the US and representing Stanford University.

The couple are reported to have first started dating in May 2023 and were seen on trips together, including to Mexico as they attended Dior's 2024 Cruise show. They were also seen walking arm-in-arm and smiling together at Paris Fashion Week as their romance was confirmed.

However, they appear to have now gone their separate ways, with the tennis star unfollowing Agostinelli on social media just weeks ahead of Wimbledon

'Boyfriend ban'

While her private life has been in the spotlight since bursting onto the world stage, Raducanu recently revealed that her parents imposed a 'boyfriend' ban on her when she was younger, in order to keep her focused on her training.

"My parents were very much against [boyfriends] as it interfered with training," she told The Times. "When I was younger I wasn't even allowed to hang out with my girl friends.

While she initially resented her parents for imposing the rule, she admitted that it had proved worthwhile in the long run, making her more confident and self-assured.

"A lot of the time I was very resentful," she said. "But it made me very confident and comfortable in my own company, which is also a big strength."

Staggering net worth

The 21-year-old's sensational win at the 2021 US Open catapulted her to superstardom, as she was transformed from an unknown teenage qualifier into the new face of British tennis overnight.

The historic victory saw her break a host of records as she became the first ever qualifier to win a Grand Slam title and the first British woman to do since Virginia Wade won Wimbledon in 1977. At 18, she was also the youngest Grand Slam champion since Maria Sharapova in 2004.

Of course, winning that title was life-changing for Raducanu in more ways than one as she was soon on the front of every newspaper and magazine, named the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year and was even awarded an MBE for her services to the sport.

Endorsement deals also came flooding in and she soon became an ambassador for luxury brands including Dior, Tiffany and Porsche, as well as the likes of HSBC, Vodafone and British Airways. Raducanu has also signed deals with Nike, Wilson and Evian, while she has appeared in ads for Sports Direct too.

All this means that, in addition to her career winnings which stand at just over £3 million, Raducanu is reported to have a staggering net worth. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, it is estimated to be around £10 million, with Forbes last year naming her as the sixth highest-paid tennis player in the world.

However, even bigger things are set to come for the British star, with experts predicting that she could one day be worth in excess of a whopping £100 million, if she can replicate the success she enjoyed in 2021. After she won the US Open, a leading sports agent told MailOnline: "She can easily earn £100 million or more. The sky's the limit."
