Emma Watson invents new term for being single as she prepares to turn 30
Emma Watson has declared herself ‘self-partnered’ as she admitted she is happily single.
The Harry Potter actress - who turns 30 in April next year - confessed she had been feeling “stressed and anxious” about entering her thirties without a partner, but she has now turned a corner.
Watson, 29, told British Vogue: ““I never believed the whole ‘I’m happy single’ spiel. I was like, ‘This is totally spiel.’ It took me a long time, but I’m very happy [being single]. I call it being self-partnered.”

The former child star admitted she had overcome anxiety to get to her current state of mind.
She said: “I was like, ‘Why does everyone make such a big fuss about turning 30? This is not a big deal…’
“Cut to 29, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I feel so stressed and anxious. And I realise it’s because there is suddenly this bloody influx of subliminal messaging around. If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you’re not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you’re still figuring things out… There’s just this incredible amount of anxiety.”

The self-proclaimed feminist - who plays Meg in Greta Gerwig’s new film adaptation of Little Women - split from tech entrepreneur William Knight in 2017 after a two year relationship.
In October this year she was photographed kissing a mystery man outside a bakery in London. There had previously been rumours she was dating Tom Felton, her Harry Potter co-star who starred as Draco Malfoy after they shared intimate pictures together on Instagram.
Last year Watson dated Glee star Chord Overstreet for around six months.
