Emmerdale's Vanessa gets sexuality advice from Robert

Emmerdale vet Vanessa Woodfield continues to explore her sexuality next week after some surprising encouragement from Robert Sugden.

Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) recently had a one-night stand with Charity Dingle, but was left mortified when the schemer told everyone at The Woolpack in last night's episode.

Although Vanessa is currently on a mission to prove to everyone – including herself – that she's straight, she's feeling slightly more comfortable by the time next week's episodes arrive.

Early next week, Vanessa is embarrassed when she hears some of the other villagers gossiping about her sexuality at the shop, but Robert (Ryan Hawley) takes a kinder approach when he encourages her to get out there and experiment.

Clearly agreeing with Robert, Vanessa's sister Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) forms a plan to set her up with her accountant Amanda.

The pair's first date is hardly a resounding success, as Vanessa is attracted by Amanda's good looks but finds their conversations totally boring.

As a result, Vanessa is unsure whether the gay dating scene is really for her, but her best friend Rhona Goskirk encourages her to put herself out there and keep trying.

We never thought we'd see the day that Robert and Rhona both dish out exactly the same advice, but will Vanessa listen to them?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
