Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale has confirmed the fate of Suni Sharma's attacker as the issue-based story continues.
Suni was brutally beaten and hopsitalised by Gabby Thomas's acquaintance Mike, a homophobic bully who attacked Suni and boyfriend Nicky after seeing them kissing in a nightclub.
In scenes airing next week, Ethan is devastated to learn that he's been let go from his job. He visits Suni at the hospital, leading to an uncomfortable conversation between the two.
Suni initially appears upbeat, but during his recollection of the nightclub attack, his mood abruptly changes and leaves Ethan scrambling to answer for his behaviour.
Meanwhile, Suni's father Amit and Nicky's dad Caleb are busy in the village plotting some possible revenge on Mike unless the police take proper action.
Ethan crosses an ethical boundary by handing over a note with the attacker's name, leaving even Caleb and Amit stunned with his actions.
The village gets some good news later as Ethan shares that Mike has been officially arrested in connection with the attack. Ethan's dad Charles wastes no time in telling Caleb and Amit about the arrest.
Nicky and Amit share a worried glance after learning the news, while Suni continues to struggle with the trauma of his attack.
Will the truth surrounding the attack be revealed?
These scenes air next week.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
