Emmerdale confirms Mackenzie Boyd's fate

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Mackenzie Boyd's fate has been revealed in Emmerdale after he was stabbed by wife Charity Dingle.

Mack went into emergency surgery earlier this week to repair damage to his bowel sustained when Charity instinctively lunged at him while being woken up from a night terror.

Charity has been haunted for weeks over killing gangster Damon 'Harry' Harris in order to save her husband Mack's life, most recently experiencing visions of the dead man in her sleep.

While Mack's life hung in the balance in Friday's (February 23) episode, Charity remained behind bars as she tried to process this second traumatic event.

Moira's empathy towards Charity had turned to anger as she sat at Mack's bedside, telling Cain that her sister-in-law "destroys everything she touches".

Over at the precinct, Charity explained that the stabbing occured because she was convinced Harry was coming for her.

Charity tried to flee the interrogation room to go see Mack, but was stopped from doing so. She was then told that Moira had blamed her for Mack's stabbing in her statement.

As Charity continued to be questioned, Moira was having second thoughts about implicating her sister-in-law given the infamous "Dingle Code" of not cooperating with police.

Matty and Cain encouraged Moira to tell police that she was simply lashing out and hadn't meant what she'd said.

At that same moment, Mack finally started coming out of his coma. Mack was able to confirm to the nurse that he was conscious and feeling better.

"He's awake. It will be fine now, so will Charity," Cain insisted.

However, Charity was struggling to come to grips with what she'd done in her police interrogation at that very moment.

"Moira's right. I destroy everything," she told the detective. "You need to charge me. Please, I almost killed him."

Will Charity face criminal charges?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
