Yahoo News Emmerdale explains another missing character for Laurel and Jai's wedding

Emmerdale has explained another absentee for Laurel and Jai’s wedding, with Doug Potts being unable to attend the ceremony.
With the preparations for the big day now firmly underway, Laurel received the devastating news that her father had broken his hip, and therefore wouldn’t be able to walk her down the aisle.

Doug, who was played by Duncan Preston, was last seen on screen in 2020, with the character leaving for a new life in Australia.
The groom subsequently joked with Laurel when he was informed of the news, saying he "wished it was [his] Dad" who couldn't attend.
Doug isn’t the only character to be absent from the wedding, with Jai’s siblings Priya and Nikhil also being unable to attend.
Elsewhere in the episode, Bernice Blackstock revealed to Bob Hope that Wendy Posner was having an affair with Liam Cavanagh, but he labelled her story as "codswallop" before calling her a "pathetic crow."

Wendy and Liam had travelled to Newcastle under the guise of attending a sepsis course, but Bob later called and discovered that no such thing existed.
Coming to terms with Wendy's infidelity, Bob later apologised to Bernice, who made it abundantly clear that she would wait for him; will he attempt to repair things with Wendy, or is he swayed by the affection of his admirer?
