Emmerdale fans distracted by Amy Wyatt ahead of wedding day as Kerry set to drop bombshell

Emmerdale fans were left with the same distraction as Amy Wyatt was seen preparing for her wedding day - not knowing that her mum Kerry is about to drop an almighty bombshell.

It's been several years since Amy and Matty Barton first got into a relationship and after getting engaged early last year, the couple, played by Natalie Ann Jamieson and Ash Palmisciano, are finally set to say 'I Do' in scenes to air on Wednesday night (April 17) in a soap first with Matty the soap’s first transgender groom.

But their much-awaited big day is set to be derailed by Kerry, played by Laura Norton, after her return to the Dales, by police escort, after leaving to work on a cruise ship towards the end of 2022.

During Tuesday night's (April 16) Emmerdale, Kerry fianlly revealed where her secret stash of cash had really come from. The barmaid was left crushed when she discovered that the necklace she had planned to sell to fund daughter Amy’s wedding was effectively worthless.

Having received just £100 for it, Kerry came clean to Eric about where it came from. She raged: “That lying old toothless liverspot, my ex-fiancee. If that necklace is worthless, there is not going to be a wedding.”

Eric was taken aback and asked her to explain. She told him: “Life on the ships, it’s a different world. I was the headline act on the lookout lounge. I had men throwing themselves at me, all wanting a piece of Cher. Most of them were gay obviously but Terrence just stood out. At 89, his sweeping days were well behind him.

“He just had something none of the other guys had - an oxygen tank. His private nurse wheeled him everywhere with it. But what he lacked in youth and vitality, he more than made up for by being stinking rich. He proposed to us on the second date..."

However, it soon emerged that Terrence was a little bit confused and thought Kerry was actually Cher and so once he realised she wasn't the real singing superstar, things unravelled and Kerry did a runner with his jewels. So when thinking she was sitting on a goldmine, she offered to pay for Amy and Matty's wedding.

Heading home, Kerry appeared ready to confess to Amy as she continues to be badgered by wedding planners Suzy Merton and Layla Cavanagh for the wedding money. But when Amy asked her to walk her down the aisle instead, Kerry clammed up and failed to share what was really going on.

But Emmerdale fans were distracted by Amy's eyebrows as they appeared darker than usual, with some not realising she was dying them ahead of her big day and that the pigmentation wouldn't be that extreme once they were cleaned.
