Many Emmerdale fans have voiced their disappointment after noticing Kim Tate has "disappeared" from the ITV soap.

Kim is one of the soap's most iconic matriarchs, known for her wicked plotting and revenge over the years. But in the latest episode she had to sigh and make do as her husband Will Taylor's ex, Rose, swanned around Home Farm.

Rose, who is Dawn Fletcher's mother, recently reappeared on the scene as she happened to be in hospital while Will and Dawn were there with poorly baby Ethan. When Dawn initially realised who she was, she said she wanted nothing to do with Rose - who abandoned her when she was little.

But more recently she has said she wants to get to know her mum, meaning everyone else in the family must tolerate Rose being around. Lydia Dingle had a go at Rose during the latest episode, and Kim told them both to stop arguing, rather than supporting her friend Lydia.

Fans have been quick to react to the scenes. On X, Owen said: "Queen Kim is losing her touch, sick baby or not" and Angie said: "Letting her husband's ex crash at Home Farm? Old Kim would NEVER". Marc said: "The Kim Tate we once knew and loved has disappeared".

Lisa said: "Let's have the old Kim Tate back....she's too nice now....makes me cringe."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV
