‘Emmerdale’ preview: Meena's reign of terror reaches its crescendo

For avid Emmerdale viewers, this has been a tense week as killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) once again stepped up her evil scheming.

She has already murdered Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker after they uncovered the truth, and former best friend Nadine paid with her life long before that.

Most recently, Meena has been holding her sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) and fellow villager Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) captive in a barn due to their own pesky investigations. It’s always the barns that see all the action in the Dales, isn’t it?

Her plans have so far been ruined, as Liam Cavanagh’s (Jonny McPherson) discovery that Meena faked her pregnancy and miscarriage prevented her from continuing to drug Vinny with a drip full of vodka in order to stage his death in a drunken crash.

Liam also realised that she had lied when she claimed he made a pass at her before Christmas, so he finally told wife Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) the truth.

Meanwhile, when ex Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) called Meena about her baby lies, she decided to invite him to the barn for a heart to heart.

Of course, this was a ploy to lure him to his death alongside Manpreet and Vinny.

Last night’s instalment ended with Meena feeling giddy with excitement as she awaited his arrival as the star of her show.

She is now prepared to gas all three characters with the fumes of the Dingle van, but will Billy actually turn up and become her newest victim?

Well, of course we can’t tell you that! But make sure you don’t miss tonight’s epic double-bill of Emmerdale, which is a gripping watch from start to finish.

Fans of actor Sandhu’s animated performances of the deranged Meena are in for a treat, which may be an odd expression given the circumstances.

But villains are a soap staple and this psychopathic nurse belongs on the list of Emmerdale’s most memorable wrong’uns.

Be prepared for a few shocks you won’t see coming, which will leave you unable to look away from the screen. This storyline has been anything but predictable, and that describes tonight’s episodes perfectly.

Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) has been worried over Vinny’s disappearance but her suspicions have so far not stretched to the guilty party.

And Charles Anderson’s (Kevin Mathurin) concerns over Manpreet are reignited when he hears the gossip amongst the locals.

A number of villagers are now aware that there is something seriously wrong with Meena, from Liam and Billy to teenager Noah Dingle (Jack Downham). But can any of them have guessed just how dangerous she really is?

You’ll have to tune in to find out.

Emmerdale airs the next stage of Meena’s reign of terror tonight at 7pm and 8pm.
