So, that afternoon, the Dingle court convenes to debate the issue of Caleb. And in attendance at this hearing are Belle, Cain, Charity, Chas, Moira, Nate, Noah, Sam and Zak. But the proceedings are thrown on their head when the defendant himself makes an appearance and states that he’s staying put in the village. But will it end up being his choice?
Who pushed Caleb?
And so the stage is set for Emmerdale’s latest whodunnit – a mystery that will put many on the suspect list when it comes to who leaves Caleb for dead after pushing him over a woodland ridge.
Gabby, obviously, is still heartbroken and far from over Nicky, and so is in need of support from her family. Moira, meanwhile, is trying to deter Cain from seeking revenge, but this doesn’t stop him from later making a lunge for Caleb, with Chas and Moira having to pull him away.
Leyla will be seen rejecting Caleb when he attempts to make an apology, all of which leads to him seeking solace with Charity and spending the night with her! This, though, is no secret evening of passion, for Charity subsequently reveals what she’s done to the pubgoers – an admission that results in all hell breaking loose.
Mack is burning with fury, Will is seething on Gabby’s behalf, David is anxious at the thought of Leyla relapsing, while Cain’s anger shows no sign of abating. With the villagers united against him, Caleb then takes pot shots at his persecutors before Chas chucks him out of the Woolpack. But that evening, while out on a woodland ridge, an unknown figure rushes out and pushes him over the edge – leaving him lifeless on the ground below…
Mack’s big choice
The not-so-merry-go-round that is Mack’s love life continues to spin, with him seen assuring Chloe that he’s over Charity. But she’s left feeling conflicted when he then asks to spend the day with her.
Needless to say, feelings between the two of them bubble up again and when they return from their day trip, Mack and Belle head upstairs. And the next day, Mack appears keen to embrace this new set-up, while Chloe does her best to disguise her feelings of delight.
However, tensions soon arise when a frustrated Chloe clocks Mack’s reluctance to tell Charity about their new relationship. And then there’s also the pandemonium at the pub following Charity’s big reveal that she slept with Caleb – a bombshell that results in a jealous Mack squaring up to his love rival. Chloe, for her part, is hurt by Mack’s reaction and ends up issuing him with an ultimatum: her or Charity. But who will Mack choose?
Things get complicated for Belle and Tom
Rishi is left overjoyed when Tom agrees to move in to Holdgate, but an irritated Belle now feels that there’s a third wheel in their relationship.
Later on, Tom hears that Nicola needs a babysitter and decides to volunteer his services as a way of getting some much-needed time with Belle. But will the evening go to plan?
