Yahoo News Emmerdale star Kevin Mathurin teases major change for Charles

Emmerdale star Kevin Mathurin has hinted that the show will continue to explore Charles Anderson's ruthless side.
The actor teased that Charles' recent threats to bad boy Alex Moore may be a sign of things to come for the village vicar.
Show bosses have recently introduced Sanditon star Flo Wilson as Charles' no-nonsense mother Claudette, which will allow his background to be explored further in the coming months.

Speaking about the new storyline, Kevin explained: "It's good to know a bit more about Charles' history and get a bit more three-dimensional with the character. We get to see Charles' family, and as his family grows, we get to see other sides of him outside of work – rather than him just being the village vicar.
"Our executive producer Jane Hudson pulled me aside in the middle of last year. There were talks then about Charles' past and who might appear.
"Jane was always saying that she wants to bring out a darker side to the character of Charles. She felt there was a darker side there that she really wanted the viewers to see.
"It was good to build the family and build up some stories and situations where sometimes the job doesn't come first for Charles – being a man comes first."

Last month, Charles turned threatening with Alex to scare him off from reporting Billy Fletcher over a hit-and-run incident.
Reflecting on the scene, Kevin said: "I enjoyed every minute of it. Charles is a lovely character. He's very empathetic to everyone – his parishioners, his family and his friends.
"Sometimes he can be a bit of a walkover in situations where he should have reacted, but he's put his responsibility as a vicar first. It was about time that Charles hit back and it was good to show that he has that side of him. When he's had enough, he's had enough.
"The scene had a very positive reaction from the audience, which pleased me. I had a lot of comments online from people saying they enjoyed those particular scenes of Charles sticking up for himself – and showing a darker side that made people more intrigued about his past.
"It's always good to lay little Easter eggs in the story that we may revisit later!"
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
