Emmerdale star Rachael Gill-Davis calls for new Gail friendship
Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale star Rachael Gill-Davis has called for Gail Loman to begin a new friendship with a resident of the village.
Gill-Davis returned to the ITV soap earlier this year after a four-year absence, with Gail rekindling her romance with Ryan Stocks.
Unbeknownst to him, Gail had given birth to his son in her time away from the village, and had returned in order to find a possible marrow donor.

With Gail’s love life now in tatters, Gill-Davis spoke with Inside Soap about the developments for her character, hinting that she would like to see Gail form a friendship with Mary Goskirk.
“I’d like her [Mary] to become Gail’s best friend. I think Gail would be a good wing-woman for her, and I love Louise Jameson,” said Gill-Davis, before she listed her ideal candidates to play Gail’s on-screen family.
“I’d love Robert Carlyle as my Dad because I think he’d be absolutely brilliant. I’d also love Ricky Tomlinson to be in my family as well – he’s amazing. It’d be great to extend Gail’s family.”
Elsewhere on the soap, there will be drama for Chloe Harris and Mackenzie Boyd after the couple get engaged, with the decision being hastened after she mistakenly suspects that she is pregnant.

“As much as she loves Mackenzie and the little family she has with him, Chloe is very insecure about his feelings for her,” said Jessie Elland of the storyline.
“Because of her history with losing people and people leaving her Chloe can't shake the feeling that her relationship with Mackenzie might go the same way.
“It [the proposal] definitely takes her by surprise because she had convinced herself that Mackenzie would not react positively to the pregnancy.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
