Emmerdale stars tease special episodes for huge Dingle family storyline

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale stars Jeff Hordley and Will Ash have teased the show's plans for special Dingle family episodes.

Show producer Laura Shaw recently announced plans for the popular family to take centre stage in a major storyline later in the autumn.

Emmerdale is expected to break from its usual format for a special set of episodes focusing on the Dingles.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Jeff – who plays Cain Dingle – explained: "It was fantastic! We had about seven days of being together, so it was intense, it was chaotic, it was funny, but it was ultimately brilliant.

"I think it's a really exciting few episodes that you've got coming up there. We also had Gary Williams, who's a fantastic director, bringing all of this particular story together and you just know it's going to be great."

Will, who plays Caleb Miligan, added: "The scripts were particularly good. Sometimes you can never tell on the page, but it was great once we started playing those scenes with everyone.

"There was a nice balance there when we were doing those episodes, because it was hard work but also quite a lot of humour in between scenes with everyone. We were playing a lot of games together!"

Specific details of the storyline in question are currently being kept under wraps, but all will be revealed later this month.

Laura Shaw previously teased: "We know they're one of our favourite families in soap and we're going to be doing something a little bit special with the Dingles coming up.

"I think pretty much all the Dingles are going to be involved and the episodes were filmed in a slightly different way from our usual style. True to form, we've played with the format a little bit."

She added: "There's going to be lots of secrets being revealed and all the cast and crew that have been involved in the filming of it have been absolutely raving about it.

"Having seen the final episodes myself last week, I think it's going to be very memorable."
