Yahoo News Emmerdale wins another Best Soap title at RTS Awards
Emmerdale has won yet another award for Best Soap, and it has those compelling motorway pile-up crash episodes to thank.
Fresh off winning Best Serial Drama at this year's National Television Awards, the ITV soap has pulled off another win at the RTS Awards, which were held on Tuesday (March 21) evening.
The series picked up the award for Best Soap and Continuing Drama, after impressing the judges with the pile-up clips the team submitted for nomination.

Presenting the award was Sandi Toksvig, who was also full of praise for the scenes.
"It should be said the cast and crew and production team pulled off an ambitious and extraordinary conceit this year with wonderful production values and highly watchable, unpredictable, rewarding storytelling for soap and continuing drama," she said.
"This year's RTS programme award goes to Emmerdale."
Back in October, Emmerdale was widely lauded for its devastating scenes following that iconic car pile-up drama.
After Emma Barton pushed James off a bridge, the incident had wide repercussions, causing major devastation as James landed on Ashley Thomas's car, causing Pierce Harris to swerve and stop in the middle of the road before Aaron Dingle ended up over a cliff side and into a lake.
Other big winners of the night included Happy Valley, which took home three awards and Fleabag which scored its creator and star Phoebe-Waller Bridge two awards.
Robbie Coltrane's drama National Treasure also did well, while BBC Three scooped Channel of the Year despite its move online.
