Emmerdale's Jai Sharma angered by mysterious message

Emmerdale spoilers ahead.

Jai Sharma will be angered by a mysterious message in next week's Emmerdale.

Times are pretty terrible for Jai right now, having left his job at The Hide after some controversial changes were introduced, and he and biological father Amit couldn't see eye-to-eye over Rishi's death.

The simmering tension is set to get much worse, though, when his half-brother Suni Sharma leads Jai to believe that Amit won't be at his birthday party.

When the party kicks off, Suni is delighted with what Nicky Miligan and mum Ruby have put together for him, but the celebrations are abruptly ruined for Jai as Amit turns up.

Following an awkward interaction, Amit agrees to leave, but not before presenting Suni and Jai with an envelope. The pair discover that inside the envelope is Amit's last will and testament, which states they'll receive his shares in the Hawksford Outdoor Pursuits centre after his death.

Just when it seems like his wife Laurel has managed to convince Jai to return to work for the first time in weeks, his demeanour changes upon receiving a mysterious text. What does it say?

Elsewhere in the Yorkshire Dales soap, Emma Atkins has opened up about her character Charity Dingle's upcoming dramatic scenes.

Charity has been struggling recently with guilt and trauma since she accidentally killed gangster Damon 'Harry' Harris.

In a fit of rage she will destroy Harry's grave. Speaking about this, Atkins said: "I think she feels she needs a release. She feels haunted by Harry so she decides to visit his grave to see if she can get any forgiveness of some kind.

"She tells him to stop haunting her and that's her way of trying to get herself back as she's slowly losing her own sense of self. She goes looking for some answers at the grave."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
