Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb has been flooded with praise by his co-stars as he shared the reality of the 'hardest thing' he's done. The actor took to social media with an update after taking part in the London Marathon last weekend.

Those who follow Lawrence, who plays Mackenzie Boyd in the ITV soap, on social media may have spotted the soap star sharing some training updates ahead of the big event on Sunday (April 21), which saw a record number of people take part.

He revealed back in February that he would be raising money for the charity Samaritans, which aims to provide support to those in emotional distress or at risk of taking their own life.

He confirmed his participation in the upcoming London marathon in an Instagram video, where he was seen snuggling up to his adorable pet dog. Lawrence, who joined Emmerdale in 2020, responded directly to his fans and followers as he said: "I have decided to run the London marathon because I'm crazy."

He then added: "I'm running because it's a wonderful cause. I'm trying to raise as much money as possible to make people realise that they're not alone."

Now, Lawrence has shared an update on how it all went. "My girlfriend said she would break up with me if I ever ran another marathon, I'm here to find out why," he said in a clip at the starting line. As he recorded himself running the route, he admitted: "I think I'm starting to see why!"

He also declared: "Help!" before later being seen close to tears as he spotted his girlfriend and their adorable pet dog on the sidelines. Lawrence was also seen with his medal after completing the marathon as he honestly said: "I think it's fair to say that I definitely know why.... I'm never doing that again. I'm never doing it again!"

The compilation video then ended with a video of Lawrence back at home as he appeared quite stiff walking around and made an intimate toilet-based admission. Captioning the post, he wrote: "Well that’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But the London marathon - completed it mate."

He added: "This is my best @raphaelrowe impression (it’s probably tragically bad) but it helped. Ach well. Thank you to all the support. You have no idea how much you helped! Unreal!" And his Emmerdale co-stars were quick to respond.

Rosie Bentham said: "Champ." Daisy Campbell replied: "ooohooo! Well done lawrence." Kevin Mathurin commented: "Well done mate." Paula Lane shared: "Well done!!!!" Former Emmerdale star Alexander Lincoln posted: "Gutted we missed each other pal xxxx HUGE congratulations my man," while theatre star Lucie Jones added: "Oh I love you! Congratulations darling friend!"
