Emmerdale's Lisa Riley prompts soap demand after reunion with former co-star in '27 year' update

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has prompted a demand from soap fans after sharing a look at her reunion with her former co-star in a '27 year' update. The actress took to social media to reveal she'd been enjoying some time away from the famous fictional Yorkshire village with someone who used to frequent the area.

Lisa, famed for playing fan-favourite Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap, had reunited with Adele Silva and alongside a freshly-taken snap of the pair, she also posted a brilliant throwback photo of them in character as Mandy and Kelly Windsor.

Sharing the post with her followers, Lisa said: "On the left 27 years ago on @emmerdale on the right TONIGHT gorgeous catch-up and dinner @gino.leeds with my life long friend @silvaliningx getting older yet getting more giddy."

Adele, 43, first appeared in Emmerdale as Kenny back in 1993 but Kelly left for good for good in 2011. However, she does still has ties to the village with her son Elliot currently living with his dad Jimmy King and step-mum Nicola King.

And it appears fans would be keen to get Kelly back in the Dales. @erinbreen28 said: "Love you both!! You need to get Adele back to Emmerdale having you both in Emmerdale again would be brill." @karen_holland_22 commented: "Great pictures. Imagine the scenes if Kelly came back now."

@music.film.tv wrote: "Would LOVE a Kelly return!!" @christopherramagedop demanded: "Bring her Back!" @laura_sparks89 echoed: "Yessss get her back!!!" @jonathondexter94 added: "Kelly should return to Emmerdale. I feel like the writers forgot Kelly is Heath and Cathy’s sister as well as being Elliot’s mum. So there was an angle on that whole storyline not explored."

It comes after Lisa confirmed she will be returning to Emmerdale after some time away. The Bury-born soap star initially took a break from the show after her Aunty Joyce died earlier this year, shortly after the death of her friend and Strictly Come Dancing partner Robin Windsor.

But this week, Lisa updated fans on when they can see Mandy back on screen. She wrote on Instagram: "Just finished filming a lovely day in studio at @emmerdale, now on my way in the car down south to film something else for the day… should be a REALLY good giggle, I'm looking forward for it." When one fan asked when Mandy would be returning, she replied: "Middle of July."
